Arthur Clay, also known as Art Clay, is a New York–born artist now based in Basel. His work blends art, science, and society through an interdisciplinary practice that spans performance, media art, theater, sound composition, and interactive formats.
As both an artist and curator, Clay is co-founder and artistic director of the Digital Art Weeks in Zurich, a festival that fosters dialogue between creatives and research institutions. His teaching and research activities include positions at leading institutions such as Zurich University of the Arts, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland, and universities in South Korea and Taiwan.
Clay’s projects have been recognized internationally and supported by institutions such as Pro Helvetia, Swissnex, Japan Foundation, Arts Council England, as well as technology partners like HP and LG Electronics.
